- Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must have a master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant subject with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates).
- Exam Pattern: The UGC-NET/JRF/SLET exam typically consists of two papers:
- Paper 1: General Paper on Teaching and Research Aptitude (50 questions, 100 marks).
- Paper 2: Subject-specific paper (100 questions, 200 marks).
- Syllabus: The syllabus for Paper 1 includes topics such as teaching aptitude, research aptitude, comprehension, communication, mathematical reasoning, and general awareness. Paper 2 covers topics related to the candidate’s chosen subject.
- Selection Process:
- Candidates need to clear both papers with minimum qualifying marks.
- Top candidates are eligible for Assistant Professorship and may also qualify for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), which enables them to pursue research in their chosen subject.
